Huangshan, or the Yellow Mountains, is one of eastern China’s best-known mountain landscapes, characterised by granite peaks, steep valleys, ancient pine trees and frequent mist. Its distinctive scenery has influenced Chinese landscape painting for centuries, with well-established trails connecting viewpoints, temples and mountain villages.
