The Bamboo Temple is located in the forested Yu’an Mountains, northwest of Kunming. It was first built-in the Song Dynasty (960–1279), but the temple was rebuilt and renovated several times in its almost 1000 years’ history. The Bamboo Temple is called 筇竹寺 (Qiongzhu Si) in Chinese, which refers to a special kind of bamboo used to make canes for monks. With its unique structural system and rich artistic decorations, the very beauty of a traditional Chinese temple architecture can be enjoyed here
The Black Dragon Pool is a famous pond in the scenic Jade Spring Park (Yu Quan Gong Yuan) located at the foot of Elephant Hill, a short walk north of the Old Town of Lijiang. It was built in 1737 during the Qing Dynasty and offers a spectacular view on the region's tallest mountain, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, over its white marble bridge.

Cangshan is a mountain range west of Dali in China's southwestern province of Yunnan. The highest summit, Malong with 4,122 m, but the mountain range includes another 18 peaks all over 3,500 m. The mountain is noted for its very rich, diverse flora, first scientifically documented by Pierre Jean Marie Delavay in 1882.
Chuxiong City is a county-level city and capital seat of the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan province, China. Chuxiong is about 127 km west of Yunnan's capital city of Kunming on highway GZ65. Chuxiong City is nestled between mountain ranges on all sides in a plateau region at 5800 ft (roughly 1750 meters).
The Dianchi Lake Scenic Area is located in the southwest part of Kunming City. There are numerous attractions along the lake. Among these are the Yunnan Ethnic Villages, Daguan Park, Baiyukou Park, Haigeng Bank, Kuanyin Hill, Xishan Forest Park (Western Hills) as well as several temples and pagodas. Towns, big or small near the lake provide visitors with an opportunity to experience customs of the local people.
Dongba Culture Museum is a museum in Lijiang (northern Yunnan) which deals with the history of the Dongba culture of the Naxi people. Many other countries have built their own collections of Dongba scriptures, for instance, the US, the UK, France, Japan, Germany, Italy and Austria. In the US alone, the collection in the Library of Congress plus that in Harvard University Library numbers over 4000 volumes. For better protection, research and development of the Dongba Culture, in 1984 the Naxi Dongba Cultural Museum was built beside the Black Dragon Pool of Lijiang. The museum has more than 10000 Dongba cultural relics and various other historical relics and offers the "Dongba Culture Exhibition", thereby attracting more than 100000 visitors each year.
Erhai Lake, Chinese Erhai, is an alpine fault lake in Yunnan's west. Its name means ear-shaped sea. Erhai Lake was also known as Yeyuze or Kunming Lake in ancient times. Some also call it Er Lake, as 'hai' can be translated as ocean or lake.
